WORKING WITH ADULTS
Taking a holistic approach to finding satisfaction in your personal life and career.
Most adults have never had an assessment of their natural abilities. They have moved in and out of roles and jobs without the benefit of a comprehensive abilities assessment.
Equipoise Coaching encourages you to complete The Highlands Ability Battery (Highlands) as part of your coaching package because we believe you will be at your happiest and most productive when you understand and use your abilities to the fullest.
What the package includes:
1. 30-page report focusing on the relationship between your innate abilities and your work and life.
2. Two-hour feedback session during which we integrate your ability profile into an analysis showing how your abilities relate to each other. This analysis is intended to answer the following questions:
- What study/work environment am I best suited for?
- How do I take in new information most easily?
- How do I solve new problems most effectively?
- How do I communicate best with others?
The answers will help you to find satisfaction and career direction and to make the most effective impact on family, friends and work colleagues.
3. Identifying and highlighting other influences that have helped to shape and define you as a unique human being who has to face all sorts of challenges along the way. These factors are:
Natural Abilities - These are identified and measured by Highlands. People are happiest and perform best when their natural abilities are employed to the fullest.
Skills - These are the tasks you have learned to do well. They develop over time through study, education, application and practice. To the extent you make use of your innate abilities in developing a skill, the skill will be developed more quickly and easily.
Personal Style - Every individual has developed speech patterns, body language, social devices, and personality traits unique to themselves. Because other people respond either more or less favourably to a person's style, it's important to identify its ingredients to enable the individual to relate better to others.
Interests - Over the years you will have developed interests unique to yourself. When they have been identified, these interests can be combined with your abilities to help achieve a fuller and more integrated use of both.
Family of Origin - Your background and family shape your life and work ethic. We encourage you to examine and understand how family history and intra-family relationships have influenced you.
Values - Your values define your reaction to people and events around you. When your sense of values is combined with knowledge of the other factors making up the whole person you are, you will be helped to bring your plans and options into sharper focus.
Goals - You will have goals which control and drive your activities. You may wish to modify these goals after you learn whether they are compatible with your innate abilities. You may find, for example, that you would be happier pursuing short-term instead of long-term goals.
Career Development Stage - We all confront critical stages or transitions in our lives. Some of these are work-related, some are personal. By defining and discussing the issues confronting you, we are able to help you through periods of change and stress.
